It actually opened on February 27, 1971, yes with “There’s A Girl In My Soup”. The grand opening was held two days beforehand without its screen because of shipping delays.

Laurel Mall Cinema was launched by the Manos Circuit as a 350-seat mini-theatre in 1971 behind the Montgomery Ward anchor store. It opened February 26, 1974 with “There’s a Girl in My Soup.”

Based on people’s comments on the FaceBook page(s) it appears to have closed down around April of this year (2015), or possibly the end of last year (2014), after a few years of decline, and the space was gutted for asbestos removal in May.

The listed phone# just rings and no one answers. Might be closed.

This theater was once part of the old Manos theater circuit of Greensburg. When it opened, it had only 1 screen. The 3 additionial screens were added years later.
