Opened as a $1.00 house on November 25, 1970 with George C. Scott in “Patton”. This theatre was an immediate hit with the senior citizens in the area. A purpos- built box with little personality, it had lines all day long while local first-run theatres had sat empty with the same film. It briefly went over to screening adult movies in 1987, but went back to regular fare in January 1988. It was closed on July 5, 1990 with Sean Connery in “The Hunt for Red October” & Fred Ward in “Miami Blues”.
