AMC Mesa Grand 24

The AMC Mesa Grand 24 was opened December 17, 1999. Very spacious lobby decorated in more of the primary colors. From the lobby, twelve auditoriums are to the left, and twelve to the right. They have high tech sound systems. By 2016 ten screens had been closed.

Boy it really annoys me when they have to close down a couple of screens

Zootopia98 Why? In the 90s AMC and others built too many theatres with too many screens. There’s only so many movies and only so many people that want to see them. I just hope some of them can be used for something else. Better for theatres or the landloards than sitting empty.

From photos on Google it looks like they closed down the original theatres 1-10 and renumbered the theatres starting with theatre #1 in the lobby, which I assume was originally theatre #11.

See AMC Covina 17/30 and AMC Deer Valley 17/30 AND AMC Palm Promenade 14/24 for mord details…Aron and AMC have a nasty habit of cutting down screens when most locations were overscreened to begin with! Corporate greed run amuck. Harkins Arizona Mills 18/25 isn’t the only one! Check screens in KS and OH too!

Same as AMC Arrowhead in Glendale also 24 reduced to 14…

I’m certain Arrowhead was always 14. The grand opening ad on their page shows it as 14 when it opened.

@Scott. You are correct Arrowhead was always a 14 screen. The only two AMC theatres downgraded in Phoenix was Mesa Grand and Deer Valley part of the 6 theatres AMC tested in down grading screen counts while maintaining the locations lowed attendance.
