Hard to know when it may have closed. As a kid growing up in Brentwood in the 80s I was never aware of a theater in Central Islip. In the early 80s New York Magazine started doing movie listings for Suffolk and Nassau in addition to NYC. In the issues I’ve seen from 1981, there’s no listing for Central Islip. So it probably closed before the 1980s.
Somewhere I saw a painting of the facade of the theatre. It was on some one of the other movie theatre sites, the name of which escapes me.
Also, it was planned that there would be a small multiplex in the shopping center King Kullen was opening outside of the village proper. UA went bankrupt and all that ever existed was the footprint.
