Serving Borger and two other nearby towns the Tri-City Drive-In fulfilled its purpose of presenting double features in an outdoor setting. It was opened prior to 1955 and was operated by Video Independent Theaters Inc. of Oklahoma City, OK.

It parked 400 cars and was owned by Video Ind.Which had a lot of Screens in that region, Mr.Greenbird.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 1415 West Wilson Street. Now Hampton Inn & Suites.
jwmovies address information above is incorrect. 1415 W Wilson St is the correct address for the Plains Drive-In, not the Tri-City Drive-In.
Tri-City Drive-In was located at: S Florida St & Tristram St, Borger, TX 79007
Both the Plains and the Tri-City were open by the early 1950s. The Tri-City was closed by 1960, as it no longer appears in theatre catalogs, and is completely demolished in the 1969 aerial photos.
Plains Drive-In still appears in 1969 aerial photos at the W Wilson St address, and is still listed in the 1969 theatre catalog.
Please update the address for this listing as:
Tri-City Drive-In S Florida St & Tristram St Borger, TX 79007
A 1959 aerial view shows the drive-in being completely dead, but the screen appearing to be standing.
A closer address is 1550 S Florida St, Borger, TX.
Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right where the entrance was once located.
The drive-in was up and running in 1951, so it appears to have been completed and opened before then.
A 1959 aerial shows it demolished save for the screen. So it appears to have closed at least a year or so before then.
Today, most of the property is occupied by Pride Trailer Village. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
