Roxy Cinema

The Regent Cinema opened on 14th October 1920 and had the name ‘Regent’ across the top of the facade in the stonework. It had a 25 feet wide proscenium.

Always operated by independent exhibitors, it had new owners in the 1930’s and the name was changed to Roxy Cinema in 1935. It closed in 1961 and became a furniture store, which remains open today as Lomas Office Furniture Supples.
