Southside Movies 4 opened November 12, 1992, operated by Greater Baltimore Cinemas. Initially a bargain house, Southside Movie 4 went to first-run in spring 1993 with "Jurassic Park." However, the theatre’s popularity was limited. Its four tiny screens (with mono sound systems) couldn’t compete with the better-equipped suburban ‘plexes. Eventually it reverted to bargain status and closed on February 27, 1997.
The space has since been occupied by a succession of businesses, including a health spa and a pet-supply store.
