The theatre opened June 23, 1978 on the lower level of the Oaks Mall. It was briefly closed in 1994 for an extensive remodel. Pre 1994 there were 4 "mono" houses and 1 THX house. The remodel consisted of a new consession stand, box office and the installation of "Ultra Stereo" in the 4 previously Mono theatres. There was 1 Norelco Projector and 4 Century projectors all with Christie lamphouses and platter systems. SDDS system was installed in Theatre 2 in 1994 and DTS installed for “Jurrasic Park” in 1993.

Closed October 2004, in June 2005, the theatre was reopened by Mann Theatres and called Mann 5 at the Oaks but was closed December 2006. The area is now a large food-court.

This opened on June 23rd, 1978 as UA Movies 5. Its grand opening ad can be found in the photo section for this cinema.

Regal operated the theater until its brief closure on October 29, 2004, before Mann Theatres reopened it in June 2005.
