This South Boston VA. drive-in, and the two theatres in Clarksville VA. were owned by the Chandler Theatres Inc.

The Moon-Lite Drive-In was opened on September 26, 1947 with Joan Davies in “She Wrote the Book”. It was operated by C.G. Carl & W.W. Harris of Stoney Creek. It was closed on October 11, 1959 with Bob Hope in “Paris Holiday”.

It was demolished and a Budget Inn now occupies the site of the drive-in.

C.G. Carl and W.W. Harris of Stony Creek, Virginia opened South Boston’s Moonlite Drive-In on September 26, 1947 with Joan Davis in “She Wrote The Book” (unknown if extras added). It was closed on October 11, 1959 with Bob Hope in “Paris Holiday” (also unknown if extras added).

The actual address is 2075 Philpott Rd, South Boston, VA 24592, and a Budget Inn now occupies the former drive-in site.
