222 Drive-In

The 222 Drive-In was opened in the late-1970’s as an adult theatre. During the late-1980’s it went over to regular movies. It closed in the mid-1990’s.

The property is now used by a boat dealership. Capacity was about 300 cars.

The last operator of the Route 222 Drive In was Anstadt and Wolfe Theatres (Paul Angstadt and Richard C. Wolfe). Originally build by the Finch family on ground owned by that family.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 8832 Allentown Pike, Fleetwood, PA. Today, Ransom CAT sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining. http://tinyurl.com/zqyydjp

Unlike most drive-ins, the 222 Drive-In opened as an adult drive-in during the late-1970s. A 1969 aerial view shows that the theater hasn’t been built yet, but was already advertising 10 years later. The 222 Drive-In began showing normal mainstream movies during the late-1980s.
