The Cine Triomphe was one of the major cinemas in Port-au-Prince. It closed in 1988 and was used as a warehouse. The building was taken over by the State in late-2008. Renovations were carried out and it re-opened in 2015.

Not many buildings left in Port-au-Prince after the quake yesterday. Very sad.

Since closing in 1988, Cine Triomphe reopened in June of 2015 after a seven million dollar renovation. Approximate seating is 700. Cine Triomphe will be used for movies, concerts, plays and other cultural performances.
