This theater opened as the Main Theater and was renamed Roxy Theater in 1931. In 1947 it was being operated by the Stiefel Brothers Roxy Theatre Circuit of Lock Haven, PA. It was closed by the mid-1960’s.

Extensively remodeled, current function is apartments and retail. White brick building, might be from the ‘20s originally.
The 1919 Sanborn shows this building as the Keystone Garage, which could hold 50 cars. It originally had a one story rear section shaped like an ‘L’. The lot is vacant in 1910. Now that streetview coverage is better, bricked up windows along the side wall are clearly visible, as is the line above which the brick changes color. Not sure when it was remodeled into a theater.
The Main Theatre opened its doors on November 5, 1924 with Alexander Carr in “In Hollywood With Potash and Perlmutter” (unknown if extras added), and was renamed the Roxy Theater on March 19, 1931.
Unfortunately the Roxy suffered damage by an early morning fire on February 4, 1947, costing an estimate $15,000 in damages, originating near the right side of the stage and spreading to both the walls and ceiling. The fire was first discovered by Virginia Miller, who was sleeping and woke up with him coughing from the smoke. The Roxy was quickly remodeled and the theater reopened twenty days later on February 24, 1947.
