Located in the Hulme inner city district of Manchester. Originally on this site was the Radnor Street Methodist Church. It was demolished, and the Radnor Cinema was built in 1937, and opened on March 7, 1938 with film star George Formby attending the opening ceremony. It was operated as an independent cinema by Arthur Murray.
The luxurious Radnor Cinema had seating provided in stalls and circle levels. The proscenium was 40 feet wide, and there was a small stage and two dressing rooms provided for when variety acts were presented.
The Radnor Cinema was severely damaged in a nightime German bombing raid in December 1940. The battered remains of the building remained for many years, until it was eventually demolished. Today, the entire area has been redeveloped.

Opened on March 7, 1938. Its opening attraction remains unknown, but it also opened with George Formby appearing in-person. This is also Manchester’s first movie theater to have installations of Western Electric Mirrophonic Sound.
