When asking residents about the Foster City Cinema they will most likely tell you it never existed. They will claim that the only theater in FC was the Mann/GCC Fashion Island 6 Cinems. They have simply forgotten.
The Foster City Cinema was a twin theater located in a shopping center on Shell Boulevard. It was opened January 24, 1979. It was tri-plexed at some point and played second run films until it and the strip mall were torn down in the early-1980’s.
