Opened as the C&C Drive-In in 1942 and was owned by J.A. Cross & C.C. Cattlett, thus naming it the C&C. The drive-in had a 300 car capacity. The name was changed to Pitts Drive-in after the Pitts Theatre chain took over ownership in the early-1950’s and the capacity was reduced to 250 cars. Pitts also operated the Park Theatre in downtown. In 1970 Pitts was merged with the R/C Theatres and the name was again changed and became the Front Royal Drive-In. It has been demolished and is now the site of a mini storage facility.
The name ‘Pitts’ remained on the side of the Southwestern Style screen tower. The drive-in closed on Labor Day 1982 with a dusk-to-dawn lineup.

I have it 1956 parking 175 cars.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 1600 Strasburg Rd. The concession building is still there.
A closer address is 1465 Strasburg Rd, Front Royal, VA.
The screen and most of the drive-in had been demolished by 1997, save for the projection booth/concession stand. It lasted until at least 2007, but by the following year had been demolished as well.
Today, Blue Ridge Storage sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
