Before it’s demise, the Birdcage theater showed movies on the cheap. Something like $1 if I remember for movies that had been out for a long time. My dad would take my brother and I when we weren’t in school all the time.
My daughter was born in that theater in October 1991!!! Sad that it’s gone!
The building is now an eyecare centre(Sunglass World).
This opened with three cinemas on April 9th, 1976 with Rhoda Fleming (wife of Mann Theatre’s owner) in attendance. Grand opening ad posted.
This expanded on March 27th, 1981. No special ad bought, just the regular listings.
This movie theater closed in February 2001
