The Missouri Theatre was operating prior to 1941. In the late-1940’s it was taken over by Commonwealth Amusements.

I’m wondering if the named was changed to the Plaza Theatre when Commonwealth Amusements took it over. I have an early `50’s photo identified as Carrollton Missouri with a Plaza Theatre visible, and the street looks the same. But I can find no record of a Plaza Theatre in that town. An image search brings up nothing.
The Missouri Theatre opened its doors on April 26, 1938. Commonwealth took over the theater on August 11, 1943, and closed on September 26, 1943. It reopened on March 31, 1946 and closed on July 13, 1947.
