This location was announced today to be on Cinemark’s list to not only receive a 4K laser projection upgrade for its digital IMAX playback, but has also been confirmed to have its 70mm SR projector setup refurbished and prepared for a run of The Odyssey in July of 2026.
This will be the first time the SR projector will run film since Interstellar in 2014, where it had a three week run.
A manager let me up in their IMAX booth a few weeks ago to show a couple friends the pair of SR projectors. We both lamented that it would likely never run again - funny how things can change like that.
November 4th, 1999 grand opening ad for the IMAX screen in photo section.
December 6th, 1996 grand opening ad in photo section. It opened with 16 screens. There was a planned expansion to expand it to 24 screens, instead they added an IMAX. This is the first cinema for Cinemark in New York State.
This location was never a 13 screen. It opened as a 17 screen complex (16 regular screens + one IMAX screen), and it continues to operate as such today.
