Originally on this site at Cumberland Avenue and 21st Street stood the Princess Theatre which opened in the early-1900’s and was destroyed by fire in 1920 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures as the Manring Theatre (#1)).
The Manring Theatre was opened with 1,200-seats on April 3, 1922. From February 17, 1935 it was operated by the Schine Circuit. The building was destroyed by fire in June 1974.
A medical clinic has been built on the site.

the Middlesboro paper is ruuning one of those Monster ads you would love to have it you had a printer!At the MANRING THEATRE, LIVE ON STAGE"DRACULA".the Horror movie was “HOUSE OF THE LIVING DEAD” and folks would see,and I ain’t making this up,April 2 1957, THE MATERIALIZATION of JAMES DEAN! after all of this the second feature was “ABBOTT And COSTELLO MEET THE MUMMY”.I pity these kids coming up today with no movie ads,but most of the current crop of films aren’t worth watching.
