This discount theatre was located as free standing theatre in a shopping center. It was opened by AMC on December 25, 1969 with Ron Moody in “Oliver”, Paul Newman in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, Peter Fonda in “Easy Rider” & Barbra Streisand in “Funny Girl”. Each auditorium had 329-seats giving a total seating capacity of 1,316. It operated thru to the mid-1990’s.
Since at least 2018 it has housed the Brazilian based Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.

I used to frequent here as a kid. They used to have double features and show Grindhouse horror moies.
Another theater I went to many times in my youth. I saw Porky’s and Conan the Barbarian here to name a few of the movies I saw here as a teen. I quit going to this theater as much when Westridge mall opened.(now desert sky mall) . Ah, great memories.
This was the first multiplex cinema as well as the first theatre to be built by AMC in the Phoenix area. Christmas Day ad from 1969 in photo section.

This was last known as Westdale Dollar Theater. I cannot find its closing date, but it did close sometime in the mid-1990s.
