The Boise Drive-In was opened on August 28, 1947 with June Haver in “Three Little Girls in Blue”. The car capacity was listed at 300. The Boise Drive-In closed in the late-1970’s.

There was a drive-in located at the I-184 interchange with N Curtis Rd. It is visible in 1951 aerial imagery. By 1971, the interchange has taken over the property. Not sure if this was the Boise Drive-In, or another drive-in. Maybe someone here can confirm.

Another address that works (at least for Google) is 1115 North Curtis Road. The highway sits where the drive-in used to be.

Boxoffice, March 10, 1956: “BOISE, IDA. – Lou Pressler of Seattle has purchased the Boise and Broadway drive-ins here. They were formerly owned by Joy Naylor and the late Milton Fry.”

Boxoffice, Dec. 10, 1949: “Milt Fry … and (Joy) Naylor … are planning to enlarge the capacity of the Boise Drive-In to accommodate 500 cars.”

This is the correct address for this theatre.

This points directly to the freeway off ramp which used to be the drive-in entrance.
