The Camelia Cinema opened on November 20, 1974 as a twin. The opening movies were Patrick Wayne in “The Bears and I” & Fred MacMurray in “The Shaggy Dog” and Paul Newman in “The Sting”. It was made into a fourplex by the early-1980’s. The theatre was initally operated by Gulf International and by 1987 United Artists. Followed by Regal who operated the theatre until January 31, 2003. The cinema closed on June 27, 2004. It was purchased by Magic Cinemas in 2013, and plans are to re-open later in the year.

It was reported that on September 3rd, 2014 that B & B Theatres will build a new 9-plex cinema, but put on hold as of 2017.
Opened On November 20, 1974 With Walt Disney’s “The Bears And I” And Walt Disney’s Reissue Of The Original 1959 Classic “The Shaggy Dog” At Screen 1, And The Smash “The Sting” At Screen 2. It Was Closed On June 27, 2004.
Regal operated the Camellia until January 31, 2003. It was last operated independently.
