The Carolina Theatre opened August 6, 1936. The opening picture was Robert Taylor and Loretta Young in “Private Number”. The Carolina Theatre closed around 1965.

The Carolina Theatre was destroyed by a fire on April 4, 1964. The fire also injured two firefighters.
