The Pelican Drive-In was opened on June 14, 1951 with Philip Dorn in “I’ve Always Loved You”. By 1955 it was operated by Biney Marcentel and J.G. Broggi. By the late-1950’s it had been renamed Tiger Drive-In. No closing date but it was still open in the late-1970’s. It has been demolished since closing.

The address is 100 Fontenot Rd, Jennings, LA 70546 which is on the southeastern side of town next to S. Railroad Ave.
Today, it appears to be private property and has been cleared. However, you can still see the foundation of the projector booth/concession stand and the faintest hints of ramps. http://tinyurl.com/oeet3tx
Please update.
Aka Pelican Drive-in Theater. This Drive-in was also opened before the 60’s. There’s an article online that list the original owner sold the property in March of 1953.
Billboard, March 7, 1953: “R. C. Sweeny, Fort Worth, has sold his Pelican Drive-In Theater at Jennings, La., to Joseph Marcantel.”
The Tiger probably operated until the late-1970s, as the 1981 aerial view shows the traces surrounded by some sort of construction.
Opened on June 14, 1951 with William Carter in “I’ve Always Loved You” (unknown if extras added).
