The Shaftesbury Pictoria opened on 21 December 1910 with “The Cattle Rustlers”. It was very small, but had the distinction of being the first Belfast cinema to introduce non-stop screenings from 3pm to 11pm daily. It closed in 1917. By the late-1990’s the building had been incorporated into an expansion of Northern Bank.
