Center Drive-In

The Drive-In sat on the NE side of the town on US Highway 281 just north of the road. The Drive-In was opened on May 30, 1952 when it was operated by Dan Blair.

The Center Drive-In was in existence in the 1970’s, but by 1991 had been demolished and today is an auto salvage yard.

There is no trace of the drive-in left save for the general outline, the old entrance road and the foundation of the screen.

The March 22, 1952 issue of Boxoffice said that Dan Blair had begun construction of a drive-in at Smith Center. The May 17 issue of the same journal said that he expected to open the drive-in by May 30.
