 Picture House

Located in Newport, Shropshire. The Town Hall was screening films by 1907. By 1934 it had been named the Picture House, and had been equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It had a 20 feet wide proscenium and a 10 feet deep stage. It was operated by Wright’s Picture House (Newport) Ltd.

The Picture House was still open in June 1962, but had closed by 1963.

This cinema was in Shropshire which is in a different part of the country to the other cinemas listed as Newport
