Located in Murton, County Durham. The Rex Cinema was opened on 1st February 1939. It was designed by architect A.J. Lamb of Newcastle upon Tyne. The proscenium was 31ft wide, the stage 18ft deep and there were four dressing rooms. It was equipped with a British Thomson Houston(BTH) sound system.
The Rex Cinema was closed in September 1970 and was later demolished.
