The Kino Wrzos (“Heather”) serves the riverside/hillside suburb of Podgorze, in Krakow, Poland. Apparently, it opened in 1955, possibly in the shell of an earlier building. The 151-seat auditorium was renovated in 1976 and has something of Soviet austerity about it, with its green concrete floor.
The interior wood-panelled foyer has some integrated seating (and old cinema seats) and doubles as an exhibition space. The cinema offered a varied film programme plus some intimate concerts.
By 2022 the auditorium had been demolished and a new auditorium had been built, retaining the original facade. The ‘new’ theatre is now a live theatre and music venue named TeatrKTO.
