The Cinema 4 was opened on December 25, 1975 with Gene Hackman & Liza Minnelli in “Lucky Lady” playing in 2-screens and George Segal in “The Black Bird” playing in screen-3 & Elliott Gould in “Whiffs” playing in screen-4. It was operated by Mid-America Cinema Corp. Each of the 4-screens had 250-seats. It was taken over by AMC on November 29, 1978 and was renamed AMC Southside 4 Theatre. It was closed by Carmike Cinemas on January 7, 1999.
