Built in 1931 and opened on the Monday 23rd March 1932 as the Kozy Cinema. It stood in Lister Street in Attleborough a suburb of Nuneaton. It had been built for a Mr. Frank Roberts and seated 490 people. In November 1932 the Kozy Cinema was taken over by the Orr Circuit and was renamed Regal Cinema. It remained a very profitable cinema. However when the Union Cinemas chain opened their new site in Nuneaton in July 1937 the Regal Cinema’s business was affected badly. It continued to survive but unfortunately on the night of the 14th/15th November 1940 the cinema took a direct hit from a German bomb and was completely destroyed with loss of one life.
The cinema was never re built and garages were built on the site for use by surrounding houses.
