The Strand Theatre was operated by Frank Thring and in 1919 it was part of his Electric Theatres Ltd. chain. It was still open in 1922, but possibly closed as a silent cinema.

Opened as New Victoria Theatre on 18 March 1915.Became Strand Theatre from 21 Jan 1922 and closed around 1930.Reopened as Mayfair Theatre on 2 Dec 1933 showing British films but closed 25 Nov 1934.Building was demolished in 1935.
