Aka Vincennes-Lawrenceville Drive-in.
This was the Alliston Drive-In, which reopened as the Vincennes Drive-In on April 5th, 1974. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
Last season: 1984.
Opened Friday March 18, 1955, Grand Opening print ad as Vincennes-Lawrenceville Drive-In Theatre added to gallery. Opening films were “Drums Across the River” and “Men of the Fighting Lady”, both previously released in 1954.
Closed on September 16, 1984 with “Red Dawn” and “War Games”.
This is NOT the Allison or Vincennes Drive-In.
As the posters in the photo section clearly state, that drive-in was located WEST of Vincennes and towards Lawrenceville, IL. It has a page on Cinema Treasures already.
Whatever this drive-in was opened prior to 1958. But was closed and demolished by 1972.

There are two drive-ins in Lawrenceville, one in the east and one in the west, and I ain’t lying. I may be an absolute asshole, but I’m very sure that the drive-in located just three miles east of Vincennes has to be the very short-lived Knox Drive-In.
The Knox Drive-In opened its gates on June 5, 1953 with Richard Widmark in “My Pal Gus” and Gerald Mohr in “Invasion USA” (unknown if extras added). Unfortunately this is a VERY short-lived venue, only operating for either a year or two before closing, and everything including its screen were left untouched afterward for a couple of decades.
