Cooma Twin Cinema

Savoy Cinema opened on 1st September 1958 with 954 seats. The opening film was Brigitte Bardot in “And God Created Woman”. The following evening Pat Boone in “April Love” was screened. Seating was provided on a stadium plan with a raised section at the rear, rather than the usual overhanging balcony. In 1988 the front stalls area was converted into a downstairs fun parlour named Dogem City. A drop wall was created in the front of the balcony, which housed a 450-seat cinema. Name changed to Cooma Twin Cinema(date unknown?) and it was closed on 26th March 2024.
