Gay Drive-In

The Gay Drive-In was opened on May 27, 1949 when it was operated by Gay Hower. The opening movie was Glenn Ford in “The Return of October”. Gay Hower was still the operator in 1955. It was closed on September 3, 1984 with Chevy Chase in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” & Steve Guttenberg in “Police Academy”. It was demolished on July 29, 1985.

Now the lot next to Harvey’s Signs.

It appears operational in 1984, but was completely gone by 1991.

Closed September 3, 1984 with “Vacation” and “Police Academy.” Torn down July 29, 1985.
