Closed on February 9, 1964, destroyed by a fire the following morning which also destroyed the Orpheum owner John Day’s Hardware Shop, Minette’s Beauty Salon, and Dixon & Campbell’s Barber Shop.

The Orpheum Theatre opened its doors on December 12, 1936 and was named after an earlier Orpheum Theatre that operated during the silent era.

Apparently the theatre burned down in the mid `60s during a run of “Bye Bye Birdie”. Based on the photos and current street view, it had been demolished and the hardware store now occupies the site not the building. So status should be changed to Demolished.
