McCutchen Theater

Opened as the American Theatre on October 15, 1914. On July 20, 1948 it became the McCutchen Theatre, and is listed in the 1950 edition of Film Daily Yearbook, where the theatre’s name is spelt ‘McCutheon’. Seating was provided for 833 in the orchestra level and 185-seats in the balcony. It was closed on May 8, 1977.

It was converted into a church, accommodating the congregation of a nearby church which had burnt down two weeks after the theatre closed.

According to this blog from May 2007, the McCutchen was recently purchased and may be re-opened at some point:

What is going o with the McCutchen now. I went over there several years ago and was interested in buying. Someone told me the roof had completely fell in. I just left. I bought a theater that had severe roof problems and didnt want to go throught that again.

Opened on October 15, 1914 as the American Theatre, renamed the McCutchen Theatre on July 20, 1948, and closed on May 8, 1977. It later became a church after a nearby church was destroyed by a fire two weeks after the McCutchen Theatre closed as a movie house.
