The Cinema 5 was built on the site of the Showtime USA Triple Drive-In which had closed in 1981 (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Cinema 5 was opened by Plitt Theatres in December 1983. It was later taken over by Cineplex Odeon, then Loews Cineplex. Finally operated by Cinemark from November 23, 1999. It was closed on January 5, 2003.

It has been converted into a gymnasium.

Built on the site of the Showtown USA Triple Drive-In, Plitt Theatres first opened the Cinema 5 in December 1983, and was later taken over by Cineplex Odeon several years later. This was followed by Loews Cineplex, and finally Cinemark. Cinemark took over the Cinema 5 on November 23, 1999 and operated until its closure on January 5, 2003.
