Sandford Cinema

Opened as the Sandford Picture House on November 1914 and was designed by Patrick Munden. It was originally run by the Sandford Cinema Company but by the 1940’s was owned by Suburbia Cinemas Ltd. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. The cinema closed in February 1978 and the ground floor was converted to a Chinese restaurant in the 1990’s with offices occupying the upper floor. The restaurant has since closed down and the ground floor is empty as of April 2017.
