The Strand Theatre was opened in 1917. It was still open in 1937 when it was operated by Latchis Theatres. It had closed by 1940. The auditorium was destroyed by a fire (date unknown), but the front section of the building still stands in 2018 in use as a bistro restaurant.

The NRHP registration form for the Windsor Village Historic District says that the Strand Theatre was built in 1917 at the rear of an existing two-story brick commercial building which is still standing at 131 Main Street. The theater addition was destroyed by a fire, but the document doesn’t say when.
The Strand Theatre opened in late-Spring 1924, and the auditorium once suffered destruction from a fire on December 16, 1928. It reopened in late-February or early-March 1929. It was closed as a movie theater in September 1937 but continued to operate as a special events theater.
