William Patrick Moran, Jr. was a pilot in WWII, single, with no children. His brother, Bob Moran, ran the Hi-Vue Drive In theater in Dallas, Texas.

The Pioneer Drive-In opened in 1948 by owner William Patrick Moran Jr., unfortunately he was killed in an accident when his vehicle overturned on Highway 87 between Canyon and Tulia on November 20, 1952. He was also a father whose brother also operated a drive-in in Dallas.

This is now Astro RV Storage. Most of the ramps are still present.

at one time it was called the astro drive-in as well. please update.

The concession stand/projection booth is long gone. A 1966 aerial shows the drive-in still open. A 1996 shows the concession stand/projection booth gone along with the screen.

The building in the photo was not present in 1966 nor does it appear to be any type of projection booth/concession stand. The large garage doors on the ground floor indicate that this building was designed and built for another purpose.
