The Mini Drive-In was opened on December 20, 1978. It was a circular ‘Autoscope’ drive-in, where each car has its own screen. Found an old drive in theater newspaper advertisement in the Houston Post from 1980 and it listed a “Mini Drive In Theater” It was showing X-rated movies. It was closed around 1985.

From a 1981 aerial, this was an autoscope drive-in. The Mini Drive-In didn’t seem to last very long as by 1995 it was demolished. The remains were still there until 2010.
Today, the property is entirely paved over with no trace of the drive-in remaining.

In his 2007 book Cinema Houston: From Nickelodeon to Megaplex, David Welling wrote, “The Mini Drive-In, an X-rated theatre at 15010 East Highway 90, bore the distinction of being Houston’s only outdoor theatre-in-the-round.”
Was this drive-in only for Mini cars?
Used to pass it coming back from Crosby at nighttime ,could see the glow of the screens and cars pulled up to them passing view from hwy 90 ,only knew one person who went there .
By 2010 all traces of the drive in have been removed with new development.
