Coliseum Cinema

The Alexandra Music Hall opened on 30th November 1911 replacing an earlier building. It was later converted to the Coliseum Cinema opening on 8th February 1915. It had a balcony and a total of 1,200 seats as of 1920. It had a 27ft wide proscenium, the stage was 27ft deep and there were five dressing rooms. The seating capacity was later reduced to 900-seats. It closed on 20th June 1959 and was later demolished.

Shown as operated by Irish Theatres Ltd. in the 1944 KYB, seating reduced to 900, proscenium width 27ft., stage 30ft. deep, five dressing rooms. Bizarrely, films delivered by Steamship Service!
