One of Brevard County lesser known airers was the Beach Drive-In. It opened on May 17, 1962 with the 1962 war film “The Guns of Naverone” starring Gregory Peck, David Niven and Anthony Quinn. The drive-in had a capacity of 650-cars. T.L. Hyde anounced that Kent Theatres, Inc. bought the drive-in from Indian Beach Harbour Enterprises in August of 1967. Victor Martin, manager of the Satellite Theatre will also manage the Beach Drive-In. Acquiring the drive-in was part of Kent Theatres, Inc. expansion program. The Beach Drive-In screened its last show in November 1976, and soon after the theatre was demolished and the site turned into residential housing.
