After a year of renovations Reeltime Theaters reopened February 26, 2021, and was covered by the High Desert Warrior.
Now boasting two new screens, with 220 and 120 new seats, other improvements include 3D and surround sound.
Reeltime Theaters of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES), plays first-run movies and sometimes early screening before national release. Mark Wahlberg’s “Mile 22” played in August 2018 at 12 Reeltime Theaters a week before going national.
AAFES operates Realtime Theaters at 36 locations in the states, 22 in Europe and 17 in the Pacific area.

My military parents were stationed at Fort Irwin 1982-85 during which time as a teenager I attended numerous movies here. It was a single-screener then.
