The Idle Hour Theatre was opened on August 4, 1910. This theatre appears on the 1916 Sanborn, operating in a two story brick building that replaced a similar wooden structure from the 1909 map. It may have been intended from the start to serve as a theatre.
It remained in operation through at least 1926, but would have been demolished to be replaced by the current Washita Theatre building. Curiously, the small rear extension appears to have survived the construction of the new theatre. The address while this was operating was 113 S. Market Street.
