AMC replaced their earlier 10-screen movie theatre (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures) and AMC placed it in a newer location which opened as the Potomac Mills 18 on February 27, 2004 with new movies in the 21st Century. In 2008 Imax was added.

Reopened as Potomac Mills 18 on February 27th. Grand opening ad posted.
Actual opening date is June 27, 1986.
During its days as a 10-screen theater, all ten screens featured stereo sound (with two screens featuring 70mm projection), and has an original total capacity of 2,500 seats (with an estimate 400 seats in each auditorium).

Please update, theatre opened on Wedmesday,February 25, 2004 (grand opening ad in photos section), the old AMC Potomac Mills closed on the 24th of February 2004. Total seats 2846
