Valley Theater

The Valley Theater opened in 1938, serving this small Schoharie County village. It was closed in 1977. The building is still standing, though it hasn’t been a theater in many years. The marquee was removed sometime in the 2010’s.

According to a plaque on the Valley Theater building (see photos), the building was “built in 1938 by Thomas Bush at a cost of $22,000. It closed in 1977 and has housed many small business [sic] over the years.”

When I saw the building in May 2024 there was a barber shop and a realtor’s office in the retail spaces.
