Opera House

This theatre appears on the 1912 Sanborn, in the eastern half of the Higgins Block, a two story brick building constructed in 1886. The 1905 map shows a vacant storefront here, with a lodge hall above.

This would have been a fairly spacious theatre for such a small town. It’s unknown when it closed, but it reverted to retail many years ago. The western half of the building was recently ruined by a trashy sheet metal slipcover, but this section still has something of its historic appearance. It is used by a chiropractor.
