Located in the Ibrox district to the west of the city. The 900-seat Lorne Cinema House was opened on 11th January 1914 and was designed by architect Neil Campbell Duff. It was sold to Caledon Pictures Ltd. and was rebuilt in March 1928 to the plans of Albert V. Gardner & Willian Riddell Glen, with the seating capacity increased to 1,265-seats. The facade was covered in green & cream faience tiles and it had a Moderne style interior with a 42ft wide proscenium. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. By 1934 it was operated by the A.B. King circuit and they continued to operate in until it closed in 1968.
It was converted into a bingo club which closed in 1976. It was demolished in 1982.
